The Current Suffering Among Children
Children in India face layers of suffering rooted in poverty, oppression, and deeply ingrained social inequalities. The selling of girls or forced early child marriage remains widespread, robbing girls of their childhood and leaving many vulnerable to abuse, exploitation, and lifelong suffering. In some of the most oppressed people groups, girls are being sold into sex trafficking, while countless others are forced into lives of domestic servitude or slavery. The children of bonded laborers - entire families trapped in cycles of debt - grow up with little hope of education, safety, or freedom. Hunger, lack of healthcare, and systemic discrimination only deepen their suffering, leaving millions of children trapped in their suffering. The need to support those who are working to rescue, protect, and empower India’s most vulnerable children is urgent.
